I've been trolling the web all day today looking at this bag and that bag and then what about this bag and what about that bag etc etc. Then I spend too much time and reached page 324 of the 'Show me your bag' thread and I'm losing my marbles.

I need a day bag, I have a 13" laptop that isn't always with me but I need a slot just in case. I need some space for some personal items(change of clothes or shoes). I have a 5d2 and trusty 24-105, and a 50mm. Well, that's all I usually take anywhere. Here's what I'm thinking. Skip the 'photographers bag' and get a bag I like with a Timbuk2 Snoop insert to hold the camera.

I currently have a kata 3n1-22, and I'm not a big fan honestly. It's so square it doesn't fit well and rolls on my back because there isn't a flare or anything to keep it steady.

Any ideas POTN? I've read through the review thread and searched the forum, I need some personalized advice.

Did you check out Think Tank's retrospective bags?

I did. I like them a lot, but I think I'm looking for more of a backpack.

Fstopgear kenti or guru sound like it would fit your needs but they are expensive bags. I tend to favor Thinktank bags.

+1 F stop, but skip the Kenti. The other bags in the mountain range have an internal frame unlike most camera bags, which means they will fit properly and distribute the load well. They also have a huge amount of adjustments for the various straps which mean that the bags don't roll around or move in any way you don't want them to.

I'm absolutely in love with the Kenti Bag. 90% anyway, it's a little more than I wanted to spend, and I can't find used ones anywhere. Killing me smalls.

That bag looks amazing though, would hold everything and looks very comfy.

I don't know that I really 'need' the metal frame. I have never worn my pack for more than a few hours. The Loka is a little too big for my needs, I only have a few lens's that would ever leave the house, and that has much too many. The Guru isn't a very attractive bag either, but it looks like It'd hold everything I need.

From the specs the Loka is not that much larger than the guru, its actually slimmer and taller which would make it seem more useful. One day I will pull the trigger on an Fstop bag but I too cannot decide which.

Loka - Dimensions (in): 8.5 depth x 12 width x 22 height
Guru - Dimensions (in): 9 depth x 14 width x 20 height

I agree the Loka is better looking.

Hi there, i just bought a Lowepro Fastpack 250 for $49 on a Black Froday sale. I really like it as it will hold a 15.6" PC, my T2i w/17-50 2.8, also a 70-300, 10-20, 50 1.8 and 430 exii, plus all accessories. Very comfortable at 15lbs. With room left in the top compartment. Only downside is no tripod holder.

Edit: I'm sorry, i just reread your original post. You probably won't care for the Fastpack, looks similar to your Kata.

I don't mean physical size, I meant the internal spacing. It has room for a bajillion lenses.

Well you can get a smaller ICU but seems like overkill. The Guru gets very good reviews and seems like a better bag compared to the Kenti. I think eventually I will end up going with a Guru.

Right, Didn't even notice that was ICU. Looks like I'm saving for a new bag. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm still open to other recommendations!

I never did try one, just going off of what I have read. I am looking for the same type of bag. Shoulder bags are killing me on longer hikes.
