My 400's that I have are never on full power and they always get the job done. I'd say go for portable heads even though that's really stepping it up, but you can travel with them. I wish I had the money for portable strobes but I would rather also work with natural light as I like it better.  If you can find them I would say get them or the 500's. From what I was told the older generation models are way better then the newer generation.

From what I was told the older generation models are way better then the newer generation. The new 500s have the built in skyport. I coul go with the 250s but they are only like 100 cheaper
