Hmm I need to get out to fry's this weekend to try out a D800. Or another one of the camera shops here in town, my sister needs a new 18-55 for her D60 anyway, could be worth checking locally since the one she ordered from Amazon doesn't work at all (it won't focus and the aperature seems like it's stuck... hopefully it's not a camera issue...).

I have a few kids I know who just got 7D's for Christmas and they are wanting to buy up most of my gear, so that makes that part easy. I'm hoping to have my new camera by the end of March. :D

Awesome Nick. :)

Awesome Nick. :)

Probably won't get the 70-200 right away, but I'm going to try and get the 16-35 and 50, maybe the 85.

Meteorite hit Russia this morning. Intense stuff:
http://youtu.be/Rp5eg_lk8zA (external link)

Lots of hyperbole; "giant fireball"; "giant asteroid"; etc.

The one in 1908 I would accept as "giant." This one was just run of the mill.

People really don't realize how much damage these little rocks can inflict. The one that made Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona, was only about 54 yards (50 meters) in diameter, but made a crater slightly over 4000 feet (1200 meters) across. The blast force was approximately 10 megatons.

It was a very bad day to be in Flagstaff.

My mind has difficulty grasping the forces involved with the 190 mile (300 kilometer) Vredefort crater in South Africa. It was a very bad day to be anywhere on the planet.

No there is a limit to the size i would like to use  I would not use anything larger than the iphone 5 specs. Last i need is to have a massive phone in my pocket or in my suit blazer. For women who carry a purse it is alright but for men you would need a fanny pack

Plus i dont want to hold up a massive phone to my head like this

QUOTED IMAGE

you're a big guy, if I can text with one hand on my Galaxy Note its not that big for you as well. I am shorter than you  If you hold one you will notice it's not that big.

You mean to say if apple releases a 4.5-4.8inch iphone you won't get it?

Speaking of which look...I saw this guy

Think I'm going to try for an x100 or X Pro 1 + Elinchrom Ranger Quadra portable pack. Get a 39" Rotalux Softbox and use that for shoots from now on... just gotta have a way to trigger the ranger...

Hey, if its a dream, dream about having ALL the good lenses.

It doesn't cost anything to dream, so dream BIG!

And who knows, you might win the lottery.

Hardly - you'd hate all of them. He's going over to the tofu-eating Dark Side. You want the real glass from Canon. :{)#

Like Jon said, these would be for the D800. So 16-35 is more of a 17-40L equivalent. The 50 and 85 are better than Canon's though. Well maybe not the L's but they are in totally different price points.
