Fry's had no D800's on display, and the 5DIII had no battery...

So it looks like I'll be making a trip down to one of the few camera stores they have here locally in the near future.

nice :D

so d800 for sure or still need to play with the two? i say if you do not need quick jippy AF and demand a good sensor. go for the d800. dont get me wrong, the d800 with fast af lenses are good enough. if most of what i shoot didnt require af then d800 all the way. otherwise, the 5d3 is a pleasure to use when it comes to events (and others of course). quick draw! :P

damm you banding!

Only bought the 85/1.8G due to the rebates. Too bad no long primes are discounted.

$396 for the 85, $196 for the 50. No brainer prices. ;)

Catalina Island dressing?

Santa Catalina is not one of the Thousand Islands, you know.

Twenty-six miles across the sea
Santa Catalina is a-waitin' for me....

Been there many times. Avalon is a nice little tourist trap.

I'll head down to one of the camera shops here next weekend to check them out. If I go Nikon I need to bet a move on quick to get in one the new rebates.
