+1. Rare exceptions might be where you've got limited time to get a shot with minimal lighting or no stabilization, or you've got movement in the background (moving clouds or running water) and--for whatever reason--decide against motion blur.

OR don’t be lazy and calculate the exposure in BULB mode if you don’t have enough light!

Here’s my 74 second exposure

I'm actually curious as to how you would calculate it?

Lightmeter is the simplest.

That said, I will boost to 1600 if I have to, trying to get the Milky Way. Works pretty nicely to see the structure in one picture! I need to learn how to stack, though.

Now we're stretching--space shots count as landscape? :p

Seriously though, you could just set your camera to any setting and get a meter reading and use your brain to get whatever ISO/aperture you want--and get a shutter speed. You're in high-school right? If you've at least taken pre-algebra, you should be able to figure it out

lets say it's dark, you're shooting in A-mode and your camera wants 1/4s, ISO 6400, for F/2. For a properly exposed shot at f/4 and ISO 100, you'd need 60s in bulb

i did but it still shows up on google at what not.

also jacobfricksphotography.com

and www.jacobfricksphotography.com (external link)

goes to different pages. Im so confused.

DNS issues! Took me a while to figure that out on my site. 'www.eap.io (external link)' worked when having just 'eap.io (external link)' did nothing. I fixed it now, though.

Who is your host? I might be able to help you. What is your end goal for that website?

I like candid street photography--not so much when they know you're watching. I never did like the idea of taking pictures of homeless people--there's just something unsettling about it. Obviously you're not doing anything wrong, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I deleted it of of go daddy. I no longer own the domain yet when you search for that under the domains it says it's still taken. I want the website completely off line

Personally I like it when photos are unsettling only because it tends to be more dramatic. I espe ially like it since we dont live in a perfect world and it shows that. But i have way more candid photos, all black and white i just got to finish editing them.

You should keep doing your 100 strangers project. Then do a website just for it and have business cards jus for that website you can give the person. I've always wanted to do that but I don't really live a very city like emvirement with tons of people.

So yeah, people in my city will stab you if you look at them the wrong way. Try looking at them the wrong way, while taking a picture of them (they'd consider it "evidence") using a $3000 camera. That will not end well.

Each year, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) compiles the data collection of crime in the US, which includes violent crimes, rapes and robberies. The report only includes cities that have at least 100,000 residents.

This year Flint, Michigan topped the list with 2,337 violent crimes per 100,000 people; 83 forcible rapes were reported per 100,000 people in Flint over the last year.

We're #1! We're #1! You can tell Flint really wanted it--we let go of 20 of the remaining 140 police officers

Your 5d2 has a plenty capable lightmeter installed, but not as accurate as dedicated units. Plus they will run calculations for you, and do other things. If you do a lot of landscapes, it's kind of a necessary expensive, like splurging on grad filters--totally unnecessary for street shooting.

Wasn't me! I never did any project like that. I just bring along a camera most everywhere and take pictures of whatever I want.
