Well, you first set your aperture and shutter speed. Make sure you set your lens to MF. Then go by the chart and it will give you the approx. time for exposure. It's pretty accurate imo. It's usually off by a few seconds but, remember it's approximate. Chimp and shoot a few shots to get what you need. :)

Ah, thanks. Yeah, I figured, I guess if you have an 8 hour shot and miss the shot by an hour you're screwwed :lol:

Since you're a lazy arse, this will be the last time I post this chart for calculating long exposures. Be sure to save it on your phone. ;)

There’s a MUCH better option. Download this iPhone app: https://itunes.apple.com …or-sheet/id560877288?mt=8 (external link)

It has from 1-10 filter calculations, not a single 10-stop calculation like Julians :)

That's new.

What I usually do is ALREADY meter my exposure with a 5-stop ND attached. Then from there, I do my calculation with ADDITIONAL filters attached.
What if you want a 12 stop (ND and a CPL) how will you achieve that with your 10-stop chart?
? Well, with this, Use a 5-stop ND, calculate for additional 7-stops (another 5-stop and a CPL) and that should put you on the ball part.

Meh... You lack bokeh with 50mm, IMO. Pick up a 135L, take a hood off and you should be golden at f/2.0 shots.Doesn’t grab that much attention either since it’s much smaller than 70-200.
I know A lot of street togs use a 135L

Dude, those are street shots, not everything has to have bokeh. Plus I was shooting at f/4.0-f/5.6.

Focus, Jake, You need focus!! IDK, I don’t like background distractions.
There are some great street photos out there and there’s one thing that makes them stand out... is the blurry distraction in the background.

That's the thing. I don't care to stack NDs. It reduces contrast in a scene dramatically. The longest exposure I've ever shot was 89 seconds. And that was w/o an ND.

How often will I blow up a 20x30 print to notice a difference? :D
