A male and female Gray Fox have been frequenting my property since July of this year. The female is quite skittish and the male is moody...most of the time he runs when he sees me....tonight he didn't. He was almost toying with me as I pulled in the driveway after work.

Here he is as he emerged from behind my shed. He was trying to get closer to me without getting out in the open...eventually he walked within 22' of me checking me out then casually walked back into the woods stopping every now and then to see what I was doing.

Getting closer....

About 22' from me at this point.

One last pose before going on his way.

Wonderful shots, Duane; and what an experience. He's a fabulous specimen...apparently, your property is providing well for them :D

Thank you. It's been nice watching them get their winter coats and thicken up for the colder months.

My neighbor and I feed birds and we've had problems with Mice and Rats at our feeders and in my attic. Once these guys showed up the problem was gone until a few weeks ago when I found Rats nesting in my shed. A week later those Rats were gone as well. It's a mini food chain going on in our yards right now and I'm not complaining. :D

I'm amazed at these US foxes, very different faces to our home grown foxes here in the UK. Sadly I don't have any shots to show the difference.

Thank you everyone. I was surprised how cooperative he was because usually I have to hide in the driveway and wait for them to come out of the woods.

The Fox's you have over there are just as beautiful as far as I'm concerned. They remind me of our Red Fox's which I haven't had the pleasure to photograph yet.

These are beautiful shots, Duane. I think you're winning him over. Thanks for sharing - keep them coming.
