Incredible animals, incredible video.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

Incredible video. Worth the time and effort to create I think.

So that was 3 1DX at 12fps timed just right to give 36fps?

I also can't get over the fact that the first 1:45 is only 2 actual seconds of running.

The guy in the VO says video footage was shot on a Phantom camera, he does not say which one or what fps but here is the product page http://www.visionresearch.com/Products/High-Speed-Cameras/ (external link)

My educated guestimate fps would be 105 secs @30fps = 3150frames in 2 seconds so approx 1575 fps (so just a touch faster than the 1DX is capable of I think:) )

It's great footage, love the muscle movement that's visible.

Notice how the Cheetah's head remains perfectly still/stable tracking its target while the rest of the body is literally flying through the Savannah (i.e. grasslands of Cincinnati! :)
