Hi,

Anyone help with a question?

I recently (in the last month) purchased a Canon f1.4 50mm lens, and a Hood, which arrived today, really happy with them. ALSO I bought a Lowepro lens case 8cm x 6 cm ( I think) the bad news it its a REALLY tight fit with only the lens, I think I should have bought an 8CM X 7 or 8CM if such a thing is available.

So to cut a long story short, I remember recently I saw someone write a review (where dammit where?) where they said, Oh yes I bought a sdkfjhs ltd case it fits the 50mm a treat, and what's more you can put the lens in it AND the hood in as well (reversed) and it fits without a struggle.

Well I tried that with the lowe lens case, nearly broke the hood, and all my fingernails getting it out, the lens on its own fits but it's far too tight really.

So if anyone can find the post I originally found, or tell me the case in question, or have any kit they use, I'd be grateful. ( I think it may have had W1 in the name, but I cannot find anything mentioning the number/lettter and fiting a hood in revered as well)

Is there a nearby camera store that you can take the lens and hood to and try to see what it will fit into? I did not write the review but my 50 1.4 with the ES-71II hood fits into a Lowepro 9x9cm case (Mfr # LP36302-0AM) with about 1cm of extra depth available. It just easily slides in and out. Using this case as a guide, the Pearstone Onyx 20 case is available but there should be similar case out there. Good luck in your search.

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

Thanks for the reply.

I will be out on tour shortly so cannot go to a store, but when I get back, I'll check out a local store.

The original case I bought unseen (other than a site pic) I went on the measurements but it's hell of a tight fit even just the lens, so I may get the 9 x 9, and poss ebay the other case.

The link below is where I got the case, really good site, helpful and excellent delivery. It is a snug fit, but I would not mind a little more leeway. (and perhaps have a hood in there too.

Keep the smaller case and buy an EF 28/1.8 to put in it ;)
