Got one recently as a gift. Came with the latest i7 processor. The version I have goes for around $900. I opted to buy my own scratch disk and ram at less than half the upgrade price, but even now the computer is running like a champ.

Only issue, which seems to be common with Dells, is the stock Video card drivers. They were causing the machine to stall every 10 seconds. Updating the machine was not enough. I had to manually download and install new video drivers AND set a system restore point otherwise the issue would creep back for some reason.

Other than that, the computer is very nice. None of your typical bloatware, and only mcafee to remove.

Now that i7... :)

Seems both of my primary programs support multi threading. PTgui peggs all 8 threads in the i7 and completes tasks probably roughly 12 times faster than my other machine. PS6 does a good job too when batch processing raw files.

16 bit 5+ layers 30,000+ pixel wide PSB files don't even make this computer flinch. :)

Adding the starch ( thanks iPhone) disk should clear up the remaining bottlenecks.
