Obvious difference would be the colors. But not too bad I think.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Even on my phone, the 40D has great colors (although I'm sure the white balance is off in #2) and resolves a lot of detail.

What is a Droid incredible?

I believe it was the 2nd generation HTC Droid. The first one had a 5 MP camera, this one has an 8MP camera.

Getting the color right was a chore with the JPG from the droid. I wish I could find an app that would let it shoot RAW. :)

None of them really. They aren't very good at all. Total lack of any interesting subject and everything looks dead.

Suggestions:
CameraMan: Looks like a great spot to work with. A return visit is warrented.

Numenoreon: Offer a suggestion. Your reply is curt, and much more rude than you possibly intend.

I appreciate the feedback both helpful and useless. I expect that in an open forum. I'm not going to give a bunch of excuses as to why this photo didn't come out better. Lets just say I should have brought a tripod with me. Maybe I will next time.

Actually, I went out that day with one thing in mind. I wanted to see if I could get fantastic images with my Droid. I think I accomplished that. Maybe this wasn't one of them but it was interesting enough I thought.

It was easier getting this shot with the Droid than it was with the DSLR I'll tell you that much! :)

My reply is not rude. It's truthful. Unlike the suggestion that it's a great spot for photos which it doesn't look like it at all. Maybe a different season but not now.

Are you being serious? Both photos are no good.

The one taken from the cell phone is awful. Color is way off, it's much too dark and too "contrast-y"
The one taken from the 40D is fine technically, but it's not an uninteresting subject.

To answer your thread's title; the 40D's photo.

If you think you accomplished that, I'd love to see the fantastic images shot with the Droid.

Also, just because something was easier, doesn't make it better.

Well, I didn't say it was better. If you'd read your quote of my quote I did say "I wanted to see if I could get fantastic images with my Droid. Maybe this wasn't one of them but it was interesting enough I thought".

So is it the absolute best photo in the world? No. I did not infer that. Is it worth being published? Probably not. Will I be hanging this on my wall? Probably not.

But is it comparable to a DSLR as far as landscapes go? Maybe. I was just using the as a comparison between the two formats. Maybe not the best examples to use.

I suppose I should have used a different shot altogether. Unfortunately I did not take any more "similar" angled shots. I should have. Next time I'm out I will though.

No. Absolutely not. Not even close.
