So far, I'm finding the Sigma 35mm very impressive. In addition to great image quality, the focus is quick and spot-on. No front or back focus issues like I've seen with the Sigma 50mm. And shooting in the dark, there was no focus hunting, even using the outer AF points of the 6D. The build quality is fantastic - reminds me a bit of Zeiss lenses. The Sigma 35mm is in a completely separate world compared to the Sigma 50mm. Be aware though - because of that build quality (and metal inside the lens), the lens is a little heavier than the Canon 35mm f/1.4. However, the lens balances nicely on the 6D, and feels solid in hand.

Thanks for the info - definitely looking into it. I'm not worried about heft - the TS-E 17 weights 2 and a half pounds!

The minimum focus distance is a bit over 11 inches. I was pretty close to that when taking these shots.

11 inch wow don't think the canon 50mm can focus tht close?

Hmmm what it like for other things? I guess too short for portraits as my 50mm is.

Very impressed. I plan to get one after the price drops a bit and possibly some Canon refurbs hit the market.

Seem like it true then the 6D does perform better image quality wise

Better DR than the 1Dx and the 5D3. We have a winner here.

The comments following the DXO summary are kind of funny, especially the one about Canon creating a boring camera in the 6D. I have to laugh when I read comments like that. Aren't most cameras "boring"? We're talking about DSLRs here, so what more is to be expected, especially at this price point? In the end, these are tools we use to capture important images or moments. I would rather have a "boring", comfortable camera with great image quality, responsiveness, and expandability at a reasonable price, than a camera with experimental/exciting technology that fails in its primary goal of producing great images.

For my own uses, and based on my personal expectations, the 6D is fantastic. The price is as good as can be expected for a full frame of its quality, and the image quality and responsiveness is top-notch. Sure, it's not sexy, but I still enjoy shooting with it. The only other camera out there right now that looks "sexy" and of any personal interest is the Sony RX1. However, the $2800 for a compact full-frame without a viewfinder and interchangeable lenses is a tough pill to swallow. For that type of cash, I would probably pick up the new 24-70mm f/2.8 II for my 6D, along with an additional flash or some other lighting equipment, or maybe a new iPad 4 to go with my camera.

Thanks for pointing that out. I usually include the EXIF data, but I recently reinstalled Windows (and CS6) and must not have updated the Export settings to include all EXIF data.

These were shot at ISO 800 and f/1.4. When I get home this evening, I can post updates with the EXIF data attached if folks are interested.

Thanks for the update. Nice shots, btw. It'll be nice to shoot 800 and 1600 ISO and not have NR work to do afterwards. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these bodies as well as the Siggy 35 f1.4.
