I have discovered that the focus points can be configured in landscape AND portrait orientations separately through the view finder. I turned the camera to portrait orientation and got the auto focus points lit-up. I immediately looked at the setting in the Q menu and it displays center focus point no matter which way the camera is held. So, I adjusted the focus point to the far right in the landscape orientation then held the 6D up in the portrait orientation and set the bottom focus point (far left point in landscape mode) and it worked like a charm. Two separate focus points. Then I turned it in the portrait orientation again, this time with the shutter release on the bottom and got AF focus points again! So you can set the focus points for the 3 different orientations that the 6D can be used in! Pretty cool! Not sure if I discovered something everyone here already knew about but I don't recall reading about it anywhere here or in reviews. BTW, it gives you the same focus point in landscape orientation whether the camera is held right-side-up or upside-down ![]() Its not something I've noticed ............... I will have to have a play latter in the week Sometimes I take good photos other times !!!!

I got lucky during that shoot, had decent light and fun subjects. I took a million pictures of those kids and kept the best ones. The siggy 30/t2i combo was good.. the 35/6d combo is SOOOOO much better. I'm looking forward to really putting it to the test but so far its incredible. Jul 29, 2013 17:28 | #4374 IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/davidkhaykin/9394444595/ Racing in the Rain Quite a bit of rain this weekend at the races. I had both of my cameras with me, and both of them got soaked. Unfortunately the 6D started acting crazy after water got into the back dial - it became impossible to change any settings and eventually I retired the 6D. My XTi kept going on... will check on the 6D again in a day or two after I give it some time to dry and see if it comes back to normal, or if I have to send it for service. And I need to look into some rain gear / protection. Dmitriy Khaykin

I will have to have a play latter in the week I'm not sure if there is a toggle to activate it or not. I was in a rush to get it packaged for return shipment that I forgot to check it once I reset all the settings back to default. It's a handy feature though!

The next two are my first night shots, looking across towards the arts and convention centres.
