Which flashes do you use and what triggers? I've been trying to look into flash too! I got to learn btw, that shot looks well lit!

Thank you they're pretty easy to do.

You can do it manually with a timer remote - but for sunsets you will need to adjust the exposure manually every few minutes.

Or use Magic Lantern so you have an in-built intervalometer with automatic bulb ramping and ETTR (Expose to the right). I usually shoot around 400 frames to make it worth while.

Editing the TL, I use LR5 and LRTimelapse (free software for up to 400 frames). LRTimelapse sets smooth adjustments between keyframes, so in turn reduces or eliminates flickering of exposures, and saves them as XML files so LR5 can read them. You can then export all the frames as a video, or HD images then merge them to an image sequence. I do the latter as the quality is much better.

It does take a fair amount of practice, but when you see it working it's instantly rewarding

Yeah thats what happened to me. Kept resisting the urge and looking through this thread and now im the proud owner of a 6D, lol.

Thanks! This was with a single 480exii bounced with an umbrella and the yongnuo yn 622C. These triggers are great. Although I usually shoot manually with them they do allow ttl when you want it. I just love the ability to control the flash from the camera.
