The second to last shot is awesome......on that note, flikr sucks on my iPad, I can't favorite or anything, do I need the app and does it play nicer?

I shot an event yesterday for the first time.....which is not my style. Going through the pics this morning and it is a pita. I didn't botch it at least, which was my worry going in.

Nope. I have to wait a couple more weeks. I'm hoping the B&H deal is still on at the time I buy. $2084 for body and kit lens is a great deal (and no shipping or tax).

I've shot several events last month but they were car events so it was cool What didn't you like about it?

On the iPad, are you running latest iOS?

I've had pretty much every iteration of iPad since the first one (have the iPad Air now) and never had any issues with Flickr in Safari.
[edit to add: "major" issues ... there are bugs with the comment box not working on the home screen, but if I click through to a photo I can comment on it]

That being said if you have issues try an app called FlickrStackr.

Yahoo only makes an official Flickr app for the iPhone (not native for iPad) and it's not that great. FlickStackr is actually much better, at least in my humble opinion.

Come Wednesday, I will be able to post samples in this thread. My first NEW dslr since 2007.

Hmmm. Not using safari...will try.

Not that I didn't like the gig, but it was a kids birthday(so light expectations, but I came recommended as a "good photog", you know, aka the friend/family member with the expensive looking camera:lol. A little stressed just making sure I got enough good ones of the clients kids and their family and shots to capture the party and guests (crazy over the top, like mini carnival) and that I had to produce for someone. It was so much more work than I really anticipated, especially since I am only rocking primes

Almost finished them up, I did good. Some cool shots of the carousel blurred a nice amount but stopping everyone outside it, good kid movement shots that show the motion and action and some good candids of the guests and kids. Got some really good creative shots of table/cake setup and am processing anything I see that way as B+W so I am sure they will be happy. Probably about 20 pretty good and another 50 that are definitely not from a soccer mom and look like something you would pay for is what I have to give them. So I am feeling pretty good about it, just out of my element doing it. AND I am one that takes very few shots when I shoot so I knew I had to have 70% keeper rate, which for a kids party definition of acceptable I did.

Nick, check out FlickrStakr. Works great both in the iPad and iPhone....

Absolutely, I was nonstop. I was freaking sweating at one point. Only way it was not like work was that the host kept telling me to grab a beer the whole time and after I knew I had good shots I finally obliged and had a few The family has a usual photographer that was out of town and a friend of a friend got me this so I am going to try to get an honest opinion later as to how my shots stack up against the usual pro.

I can't post any pics from that here, but here is one of my son with my playing around.
