Danbo & Danbo mini like to spend their evenings watching planes fly by.

This is awesome. Now that I have the mini, and got the cliche standing alone bokeh shot out of the way (aout 50 times) I need to start doing something creative like this!

A ship a bit larger than we are used to came to visit our town today. Rain was pouring down, so i used my Lenscoat rain cover, and a 20$ UV filter, the filter worked fine until it got wet, trying to dry that thing of was next to impossible! :)

It is not a stupid question.

Most shoot RAW but a few people advocate .jpeg for the casual photographer. After years of shooting only RAW, I got my 6D and started shooting .jpeg's. This was because my sister is an avid bird photographer and only shoots .jpeg's with her 5d mkiii. I have been impressed with the images from her camera when editing them for her.

The .jpeg output from the 6D is quite good. With that said, a compressed jpeg file is never as versatile for recovering highlights or shadow detail as a RAW file. However, for most instances, the jpeg's file works ok for me. This camera has a fantastic low noise sensor and while it will blow out highlights of the image if jpeg is used, I find that simply setting the camera to shoot - 1/3 or - 2/3 exposure helps me get more acceptable results.

The colors are always quite good and require little if any sharpening for my purposes.

So if RAW confuses you, don't fret....just shoot .jpeg and enjoy!!!

Sorry for the long winded answer!

:)

Or shoot raw + jpeg and then toss the raw files that aren't needed and keep the ones in which you need to boost or drop exposure.

I like shooting Raw+ Jpeg because canon does a better job than I do of processing jpegs from raw data. But occasionally I need the raw files.

I had thought of including that option, my thinking was that the person asking the question was probably not into editing in RAW.

Haha thanks! This took several attempts to get the paper plane in the right spot, I could have layered it in but I'm horrible at using CS6 so this was easier haha. Yeah if you look at the Danbo love group on Flickr there are so many creative shots so it's real hard to come up with something new and creative. I got a few more shots of him planned, but I'm waiting for my Macro lens to arrive so I can get a better perspective for them :)
