I was playing around with the WiFi a few weeks ago. I really wish you didn't have to hold the shutter on your phone during a bulb exposure, I hope they fix that in the app at some point.

Focus seemed to be on the vacuum cleaner?

As far as in focus or AF point? I would guess that my camera movement matched the vacuum more than her head and since they are on a similar plane the vacuum is a little sharper.

I shot it using the left outer point on her face, but really that doesn't matter because I was kinda panning, and shot it at 1.4 at 1/30 and in one shot not ai servo because I was doing other experimental(bored Saturday) stuff that was not moving when I walked through the house and impulsively shot that. I had no intention of taking a sharp picture of my kid vacuuming, that would be terribly boring photograph. I am not sure that this is not boring, but I like the feel of it, I like the static motion vibe. If I really cared I could blur the vacuum some. This was just a 2 min edit in BW.

I like it. It conveys a sense of frenetic motion.

Thanks Dwain. I know it is not cool in the tech section here, but find myself hating images that are tack sharp on your subjects right eye etc. Just such a generic look to me.

Lucas, on that note, I like that shot. It is spooky looking as hell with your hands in like a prayer kinda formation. Nice!

Whether that was the intention or not probably isn't the point. I like the photo because it's fun. A dad's kid playing with the vacuum cleaner. The black and white isolates the composition. It's perfect.

Two of my favorites from a trip to the philadelphia zoo yesterday. Check my flickr to see the rest! Most shot through glass so had some reflections, but still great i think.

Great Blue Heron.

Nice. How close were you to the bird, and what lens did you use?

There's a fair amount of fowl around me but I tend to scare them if I creep too close!

I was probably 25 to 30 feet away and the pic is cropped some. I was using the Canon 70-200mm F4L IS. My 6D and this lens is incredibly sharp if I do my part. This was up the coast at North Myrtle Beach.
