Everything is relative.
Gear: 6D, Unholy Trinity:twisted: (24Lii, sigma 50A, 135L), and for the other ends of the spectrum, sigmaEX 14mm2.8 and sigmaEX 100-300F4.

I've been talking to Mikey forever about trying to get good night shots...I think I finally "get it". I shot these at 24mm, ISO 5000, f/4.0, 25 seconds

My starfields don't even compare to the above, but to get focus, I go into live view magnify the view, finding a star in that view to focus on, then tune in the focus.

My biggest problem with getting a good starfield is getting to a location far enough away from light pollution. These shots were taken in the British Virgin Islands, and with the humidity it's really difficult to get far enough away from all the lights.
