Let me jump in here for a minute please. Liking the images I'm seeing from the 6D and wonder how many of you jumped from the 5dII to it. I shoot nothing that moves and hardly ever use my flash so should I make the move since the price difference isn't that much of a spread or just be happy with the MarkII.
Thanks,
Whisle

I made the switch from the 5D2, and image wise, they are very very similar. ISO is about a stop better with the 6D. Back screen is better and smaller, lighter body. But pure images, about the same. I had a strong need for WIFI so thats what prompted the switch. I miss having CF cards though, either my cards are very slow, but the buffer is quite slow with the camera and hate having it bog down.

You two are both showing that the 50L is indeed an amazing lens!

Whisle,

Jump on in. The water is fine.

Sorry, I don't have a MkII, but was going to purchase one when the 6D came out. I was swayed by the higher ISO performance and the WiFi (which I sometimes use, even as an old guy).

By reputation the ISO performance is much better than the MkII and the AF is incrementally better.

I have experienced no banding when pulling shadows, which is roundly reported about the MkII.

You might miss the joystick.

I presume that you are in more northern Virginia than near where I am or I'd loan you mine.

What are you hoping to gain by this trade?

Dwain

Thanks, Richmond area.

Thanks Dwain and Tony! Doesn't look like I'll gain a lot but the price difference is not bad at all.

40mm Pancake @ 2.8 on the 6D. I don't it too bad for a $149.00 lens! ;)

I'm in Richmond every quarter for a meeting with Commonwealth officials. If you can't get your hands on one... or rent one... I'd be happy to let you grab mine for the day.

I think a short test drive would settle your questions.

Seeing your work, I have no doubt you could milk the 6D for all she's worth.

What speed cards are you using? I just got a 90mbs PNY card for $11 on Amazon to try with my Fuji (it's write speeds are abysmal) and tried it in the 6D yesterday and it clears pretty darn quick ;)
