I have both the 6d and lg g2. I have no problems with wifi, both in direct connection and using a router. I'm not sure what settings might be the problem though, but just ask if there is any setting you might wonder about.

Go on Amazon and search for "GGS 6D screen protector". They make optical glass protectors and have options for the rear and top LCD's as well as the viewfinder. I just got a combo pack with rear and top LCD protectors for $14 (Canadian).

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get a little bit of wisdom as I'm under the gun. Tonight I'm shooting for my brother's rehearsal dinner party. It is an Indian wedding so there will be a lot of henna work being done etc. My idea is to set up a makeshift studio with lighting and then tether my camera to my ipad via wifi so the subjects can have instant access to the shots and upload them to instagram. My problem is that when I wirelessly tether the camera to the ipad I can't upload to instagram as there will not be an external internet connection. Any thoughts or work arounds?

No way around it - if you want to post it then and there, you'll need access to an internet connection. Un-tether from camera once image is rec'd and then tether the iPad to someone's smartphone network? I'd be surprised if the event space didn't have Wi-Fi access.

Yeah, that was essentially what I was planning. Its a little awkward but it might work out. We'll see. I'll keep everyone up to date about my findings.

do you have a laptop that you could bring with you as well? if you do, an alternative could be to wirelessly tether your camera to the laptop and your ipad usb-cabled to the laptop. this way the camera takes the photo, wirelessly send the photo to the laptop, the laptop sends the photo to the ipad via the usb cable, and the ipad uploads the photo to instagram via wifi/data.

it is a more complicated setup but it means you do not have to tether/untether to the camera and wifi/data repeatedly during the rehearsal, which could run into technical difficulties eventually. this alternative lets you just set it up, make sure it works and then you leave it all alone until you are done.

Yeah I was thinking about this as well but I have a few issues that make this difficult for different reasons than the originally proposed plan. First, I don't really have a laptop that is fast enough to handle the files. Mine are antiquated and since I built my PC I haven't used anything else. Secondly in order to borrow a friend's laptop I'd have to then ideally install both the canon software (which I don't think I have anymore) and lightroom (comfort level) to make it functional for me on a very short window. I wish I had thought of this earlier because it is exactly what I would do.
