PP it more! Throw some curves in for contrast, and mess with the colors. oiajsdfoiasjf those mountains!!I did a few things and honestly, I didn't like it when I overdid it. I had a few variations and liked them this way the most.

Make a blank layer in PS, gradient from black to transparent white, and start from the top and go down. White should be on the bottom. Then, set the layer's blending mode to "overlay" and use opacity/fill until you hit the desire. Also, putting a gradient map over the image, and using the fill with that also decreases the color to some extent in those areas. Just a couple of techniques I use, personally. Hopefully you don't get too upset at me for this, but like this for example: http://i.imgur.com/vB8SlRS.jpg I'll give that a try. I actually haven't done anything with gradients before.

A gradient with a low opacity, curves, color balance, selective color, and hue/saturation (messing with the colors) are your key. Just take it a step at a time. Camera gear: Canon 5D Mark IV | Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II | Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L II | Lights: Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed AS

It definitely increased the darkness of the upper portion of the photo and when I did overlay and adjusted the opacity, the lower portion was fine as well.

What I'm still confused on, however, is how to create a gradient map over the image, unless that's what all of the above means? You wouldn't use black to white, but rather, black to transparent. So set the opacity at the end of the gradient to none. Black to white will create a darker top and brighter bottom, while black to transparent will simply darken the top, and leave the bottom as is. No tweaks in PP other than brightness/contrast and slight clarity. I really need to read up on the tutorials in the astronomy forum. ![]() So does that milky way kinda thing just randomly appear in images after 20 or so second exposures?
