Hello all!

Took some readings with a t 0.1 meter (Broncolor FCC) and here are the results. Quite interesting. 2400 pack, Prohead, single tube. These are good numbers to use a guidelines in case you're doing any sort of fast moving photography with the packs. The numbers that Profoto provides do not have any type of t. numbers attached to their specs, so it could be either t.5 or t.99 for all we know. Take the Profoto literature numbers with a huge iceberg sized grain of salt. Enjoy.

2400 1/350
1200 1/655
1000 1/700
800 1/750
600 1/935
400 1/1070
200 1/1500
100 1/2000
50 1/2620
25 data not taken

Heh, interesting.

="Profoto"]since it is a real high voltage system (1000V), the max. flash duration of the Pro-8a 2400 at full power is just 1/750s (t 0.1). This delivers sharp pictures in many shooting situations. The most “advanced” of the actual flash generators using flash-cutting technology struggles with its low voltage and therefore has a quite long flash duration of 1/290s (t 0.1) at the same power level.

Thats quite the difference in numbers.

If anyone else has a Broncolor FCC meter or can measure t0.1, I would like to see the numbers as well. I do not know how Profoto came up with their numbers. If they are willing to share their t0.1 numbers as well as the measurement equipment used, I'm sure it would benefit many doing action / sports sequences with them.

The Broncolor Scoro S 3200 RFS 2 is spec'd to 1/285 at full power, so your readings are realistic in that regard, perhaps profoto mixed its t.5 with t.1 ?

In normal mode, the Scoro S pack will do the 1/285 second spec'd at t0.1. There are two other modes. One is a speed mode that will give about 2/3rds of a stop faster flash duration, and then there is the t0.1 min mode which is selectable in the menu. There are reviews on the web that claim that the t0.1 MIN mode was selected, but the numbers for the other persons review don't agree with the meter readings that I measured.

I don't have the 3200 scoro S pack handy but the numbers for 800ws and below are just insane in the t0.1 min mode. Soon as I get a chance, I'll take readings on higher power levels.

800 1/3000
400 1/6000
200 1/6000
100 1/6000
50 1/6500
25 1/7000

Just for grins and giggles, Paul C. Buff Einstein pack. These are numbers from his site. For my type of shooting, I don't think I'd be using the 2.5 ws mode. More like the 100ws and above.

Wouldn't mind taking the meter to them for verification. :)

Paul C. Buff / Einstein - COLOR mode

640 1/540
320 1/1700
2.5 1/8000

Paul C. Buff / Einstein - ACTION mode

640 1/588
320 1/2000
2.5 1/13,500
