Hi everyone,

I just got back from my second wedding, and during the wedding, when I was checking the last picture on the LCD, it had a can't read error. I stopped using it immediately, but now I am trying to save the files. For some reason, it brought back all of some old Jpegs (from September) that were deleted, and all the raw files (every one I took from the wedding) now will not read, not with the camera, photoshop, or DPP. I used Sandisk's RescuePro, and it finds the CR2's, but they still are unreadable.

Any ideas?

I am so worried about this! I can't believe I'm at my second wedding, and I already have a lost-pictures situation!!! panicking!

I think I need some kind of program that can reassemble raw files from the individual bits... Is there something that can do that? Basically, go in there and read the information that is there and build up new cr2 files?

Have you tried Recuva? Out of curiosity, do you format the cards before each use or just delete the images?

I will try recuva, it's worth a shot. I thought I formatted all the cards, but this one might not have been...

recuva didn't even find any files... Found out these are their first dance photos... that's not likely to be forgiven easily...

Still no luck. I was able to extract 160x160 thumbnails with phil's help using his exif-tool. But alas, it appears that the CR2's are corrupted and everything is zeroed out starting after about 10% of the file.

For anyone reading this thread in the future, I sent it to LC Tech who are the makers of Sandisk's recoveryPRO software. It costs $175 for the 8gb card for them to recover the images if they can be recovered. I will post back if they have any luck.

Yikes! Bad luck mate, a good lesson to shoot to two cards simultaneously if ever there was one
