Thanks Tyler (I'm getting personal ;) ) for viewing. My wife always wonders, why I have to shoot also these 'ugly' pictures, but I can't help it, they are facinating.

The forums are a lot slower than here, but the chat is lively and the DataBase of locations is big. Only thing is you have to be around for a while before you get "full member" status so yu can see the whole DataBase. Also check out www.opacity.us (external link) that site inspired me to get into exploration and photography and some of the links from there are sites from around the world.

Just a tip for you. When I first started shooting in abandoned places I used really high ISO, since oyu have a 20D it should be even less of an issue than with my XT, but you still might notice some noise. If you have a tripod and some patience you can get away with much lower ISOs. Currently I shoot all my images at ISO 200. Of course I don't have any noise reduction software so I'm kind of forced to :-p

P.S. - This may be a totally non issue or concern since I don't notice any noise in your images at all.

Relevant note. This time I was intentionally using high ISO, not only because I was carrying only monopod, but also knowing 20D's excellent capability to handle noise. Post processing applied, starting with rawshooter, which alone can do almost miracles.

Hi vjack, thanks for asking. Flash, to my opinion would flatten the image too much. I liked to get more edge to the shots. Also important was that the building was 'leaking' natural light, which i liked to record.

During the same trip I shot also these https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123328. Those are example of double exposure. The building is the same (and seems to be an endless source of interesting objects).

Magnificent Olli! These are the kinds of shots I really like. Two and three are my favs- number one makes me want to go explore though-- what is that dark mass in that corner? what is just behind. . . what would I see if I looked out that particular window and into the horizon. . .
I get such a sense of excitement and awe when I enter these places and sense of longing when I pass by a site that calls my name.
Nice work!
