It would be even better if buyers used the search function. ;)

In order to optimize your item showing up in searches be sure to describe the item in a number of ways. A Canon 300mm F/4 L IS also need to be 300 mm. Those that query 300mm will not find the 300 mm and vice-versa.

That's what I do when I am looking for an item I want to purchase. Right now I want a Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter, and the search function works like a charm. Heck I had a Tamron lens on here that didn't sell for nearly a year and someone finally contacted me wanting to know if I still had it.

Smart buyers know how to use the tools they have at their disposal. If the item you are trying to sell isn't, then either you are asking to much or the market is currently flooded with said item. With that being said, most of my items while being listed on POTN often are sold locally.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I look forward to Pekkas obviously hard work that he's put in.

As to items not selling, there are any number of reasons, not the least of which is sellers asking too much. If you are willing to cut your price, cut it in the original post.

I recently sold my 24-70. I had offers at asking price within 30 seconds. And it was paid for within a minute.

I sold pocket wizards. They sold instantly because it was a good deal for the buyer.

Look back a few years. The very sought after 85LII sold used regularly for $1850. Now it sits unsold at 1700. I don't know why. But I do know one thing. Should I decide to sell mine, I'll price it at 1600 and it will sell instantly.

Mark
