Why would you need two of the same exact camera?

There are many reasons. If weight and carrying capability is not a concern, it's nice to have each camera mounted with a different lens. Far less hassle having to change out lenses in the field and you're apt to capture more if the scene is rapidly changing. Also, it's nice to have the exact same camera for familiarity, changing settings, etc. And last but not least, if you're going to a once-in-a-lifetime location, it sure is nice to have a backup camera in case one goes down.

My reasoning is purely backup. Would hate to be in one of the most beautiful landscape settings anywhere and have a body fail. My thought was that the Mark III is lighter, higher MP which I generally don't worry about except in the setting of landscape photos.
