My 2200 has stopped, ink maintenance tank is full. I have googled for the reset but so far all of the pages have expired or do not answer the question. I know there is a solution but has been a while since I read about it, help!

ralff,

I don't know the 2200, but I am aware that the tank replacement on my R2880 is an Epson job, not a job they ever intended to be done at home.

My previous A4 printer died for this very reason and no tank replacement was offered. Thats why I stay well away from borderless prints these days, much preferring to crop the small white edges away after the fact.

Not sure if it helps, i'm running a Canon Pro printer which does not have this problem but sadly has other issues, so no printer is perfect :(

Thanks Rene, that helped! Lowner, have a kit that replaces the ink maintenance pad with a reservoir that can be emptied. Bought a set of refillable carts and am converting the 2200 to B&W printing with a kit from Ink Jet Mall, got samples of prints, BEAUTIFUL!

ralff,

I've been led to believe by Epson that the R2880 uses a reservoir rather than nappies. How true that is I have no idea, I did ask some searching questions but until mine breaks down like my previous printer did, I will not know if they were straight with me or not.

Whether the 2880 has a reservoir or not is not so relevant, since it's not (meant to be) user serviceable.
The smallest current printer that has a user-replaceable waste-ink tank is the 3880: http://www.alibaba.com …/waste-ink-tank-3880.html (external link)

Unless you want to go the DIY route ;)

Thats very useful information, thanks Rene. If that is how the R2880 is laid out, it dows not look too difficult to replace.
