My fiancé's son "hinted" that he might like an Xbox 360 for Christmas. His B'day is the same week also, so we thought we would get it for him. Everywhere we went they were sold out.

All our friends said that it was impossible to find one so we bought him two games for it and an extra controller. The rationale was that we could at least give him those and promise him that the Xbox would soon follow.

But then finally the Friday before Christmas we were lucky enough to get one at Circuit City. They had received 20 units that morning and they were down to the last six when we got there. He was one happy kid when he opened the present.

There were people selling just the boxes, and in the frenzy for the 360 the bids got up to 600 to 700 dollars.

He's one lucky boy! I also wanted Xbox 360 for Christmas. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get it. Poor me. Can you just adopt me? lol.

Nice gift. Nice shot (external link).

The frenzy you refer to is people been shipped boxed up 360's via dodgy courrier and opened it to find bubble wrapped house bricks.

I was fortunate to get one at a local Wal-Mart. They got a shipment of a whole 2, yes two, units 2 weeks before Christmas. I thought about eBay'ing it, but decided to keep it. Its about 2 weeks old and I love it. I have it hooked up to my 65" Widescreen running at 1080i and WOW. The first 3 days I owned it, the days and nights just blurred together.
