The bucks have lost the outer sheath of their horns and are regrowing them from the hair you see at the base of the inner material. Beautiful animals unique to North America.

Read of this, never saw it. Pronghorn are probably the most beautiful animal on the continent.

Very nice that you were able to get the photo.

These are from the National Bison Range, Moiese Mt. A 1900 acre USFWS refuge. Introduced in the 1950's and are easily accessible. I know how difficult the open plains antelope are to get close to, these are more used to vehicles on our tour road.
