I'm re-writing this to make it a bit clearer. I'm also using firmware 2.0.3

1. If you start off in either P, Tv, Av M or B and select an off centre af point i.e. furthest on the right.

2. Turn mode dial to C1 and then go back P, Tv, Av M or B the af point should revert back to the point selected in step 1.

3. Now press in the multi-controller (I am asuming you have the multi-controller set to af point direct), the centre af point should be selected.

4. Turn mode dial to C1 and then go back P, Tv, Av M or B and the af point does not go back to the centre as in step 3.

Anyone else getting this?

What's the error in this? When you exit C1, it goes back to whatever you had when you entered C1. Which it should.

No if I exit C1 it goes to the right hand point, even thought it was at centre before hand. If I push the joystick to select centre point then go back to C1 then exit C1 it goes back to right hand point, I have just discovered if I exit C1 and select any point with joystick then go to C1 and then back again it keeps that point, but selecting centre by pushing the joystick then going to C1 and back ignores this.

Aha. Your original problem description lacked a few details, then. What you describe now is exactly the same thing as I see, and I agree - it feels like a bug. Selecting the AF point by moving the joystick or pushing it in ought to have the same authority.

I'm using firmware 2.0.3, so there's nothing newer to apply today.

Ah at least I'm not going mad then, I wonder if I should report this to Canon.

Thanks for your help.

That doesn't help, since it doesn't say it should behave like this.

I have not experienced that issue and I keep mine on center focus point. I kind of agree with KhanhD.
