Is it worthg it as an extra off camera flash, Already have YN 565EX but feel like I need at least one more off camera flash.

Thanks in advance
Don

I would pass. I bought one for my mom to use (last minute panic mothers day present). Its okay, but build quality is suspect and you can get better with the YN flashes.

YN 560's are dirt cheap, and they're amazingly rugged units.

Edit: here ya go... cheaper than that one at WalMart. http://www.amazon.com …402&sr=8-2&keywords=yn560 (external link)

But only manual. At least the SunPak is TTL.
There are YN models that are ETTL as well.

well... since he's only got one flash, I'd assumed that he probably doesn't have any wireless or wired way of triggering another flash with ETTL. So, the next assumption was that he'd be using the second flash in manual mode anyhow.

If not, learning manual flash is a good thing to do. Your camera does not always know best.

That flash doesnt have manual controls and the head has to be zoomed manually like the old vivitar 285's.

Thanks for the info
I do have the Cowboy wireless triggers, I just saw the flash at Walmart one day and was wondering if it would make decent extra flash, Was thinking about getting it because it was readily available. Was going to try it as a backlight and maybe using with a diy snout.

Thanks, knew I could count on you guys for the right info.

The CowboyStudios triggers you have aren't ETTL are they?

so, your second flash may as well be a manual flash.

I'd recommend the YN560

Thanks to all for the great info.
I am afraid to order anything online anymore since Georgia passed an online sales tax law, requiring online companies to collect sales tax for the state of Georgia, Amazon was one of the companies they mentioned that they wanted to collect the tax. Now I don't want the government coming at me later on down the road for tax evasion.
Now, I can't help it if Amazone doesn't want to collect taxes, but I will be the one that gets punished for buying something.

Seriously, you are worried that much about at most a $7 use tax?

No, it's the stuff I have ordered since Jan 1 13 it keeps adding up.

I get that it can add up, but its not like the state of Georgia is going to run you down for it. They know if they cant get Amazon to collect for them its not likely to happen.
