I hate to pat myself on the back but it seems like everything lately that I process into Black and White becomes absolutely breathtaking. Even stuff that I don't expect to look good ends up looking pretty darn good if not phenomenal.

Someone told me that it's because I am seeing things how they would look in Black & White before I take a picture. That may be true. And it makes sense because sometimes I catch myself approaching a subject thinking "How would that look in Black and White"? Or "This would be awesome in Black and White."

Maybe that's the mode my brain is in right now. Also, there appears to be nothing colorful in my area to photograph. Even the Christmas decorations seem colorless to me. The lights are all white, the decorations look best in the dark black of night.

I don't know, maybe I'm going color blind or something. Either that or my affection and sensitivity for Black and White photography has hit an all time high.

I'm actually thinking about working on a second personal coffee table book for my home. It'll be all Black and White photos. Just something to keep my creativity going. But in Black and White only from cover to cover.

I shot a wedding once and I converted every photo I gave to the bride and groom to Black and White and they absolutely loved it. I had asked them if that would be OK and they were very excited about it. I also had the original color photos and asked them if they wanted the color ones and they said they were quite happy with the Black and White ones. Even their wedding album I did for them was all Black and White. It was pretty cool!

Anyway, that's what's on my mind at the moment.

If anyone else has had this experience or thinks I'm just crazy please feel free to tear me a new one. :)

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!
