I remember some discussion in one of the forums about this girl's "inappropriate" yearbook photos. I couldn't find it in a search, but here's an update that I just ran across. It's a few months old but an interesting addition.

Some people thought so. The subject is an underage girl being presented in a "sexy" manner, which many find to be objectionable.

I never heard about the original story on racy photos, but in my opinion they did seem unfitting for a yearbook. I would hate to be dealing with this as a school. There are young ladies that are going to want to look like a slut, and there has to be a line drawn somewhere. I know my daughter's high school at least for prom set guidelines, and if the girls showed up inappropriately dressed, they were kicked out. Sad. I did school photos and yearbooks as a photographer, but thankfully the schools I worked with were conservative and had me do formal senior portraits for the yearbook, and allowed them to submit other pictures for a collage that the yearbook team could pick from. This avoided much of this issue.

What's her age got to do with it? We are talking about a high school yearbook photo. If she wants to go into modeling and do glamour shots, calendars, whatever... no problem as you said she's 18. But really not the right stuff for a yearbook. There has to be a standard for a yearbook, or the images would get more and more over the line. I would just hope that the school has set a written policy... something hard to do... or otherwise the lawsuit happy folks in the US will start going after the school for having their "rights" violated. If you've ever dealt with high school students in mass, it is no easy process to maintain a level of order and modesty among the students... especially when some of the parents don't have a clue what is appropriate.

I think they should just use the mug shot.

Or maybe they just have different opinions.

I'm with Rushmore on this one.

IMO, one shot (#6)..in the yellow skirt facing away, is kind of provocative (especially for a yearbook). The dress is half up her arse.

You know this story is 4 months old, right?

Also...as a teacher (middle school, so my oldest kids are nearly as old as this girl was at the time those photos were taken), I'm going to say, yes, they're too racy for a school yearbook.

Those photos would never make the yearbook at our high school.
And they shouldn't!

I can see how they may be a bit "racey" for a year book... but I guess I don't understand why they are being arrested. School should of just told them no....
