So I shot the establishing shot two ways, one was a straight exposure, the other a 3-shot HDR. I prefer the straight shot but I included both for comparison sake.

HDR is a little less pleasing, it was all natural light.

Straight shot was lit with a 600EX with a 1/4 CTO gel, zoomed in to 200mm, over top of the objects, and consequently bounced off the brick wall behind it to help illuminate the liquids a little bit. Despite the zoom of the flash, it still caught the label a little more than I wanted but its still better than HDR.

About halfway, flash bounced camera left off the brick wall.

Nice work. Out of shots 1 & 2 I have to say that I prefer 1 too. The HDR version has great detail but 1 just has more "feel". I love 1 in colour but I think it would work great in B&W too.
