Hi, I'm Troy with H2O Photo Project (working title). I'm part of a startup company that is developing a new underwater camera housing. We're hoping to be able to provide an underwater DSLR housing that is under $1,000 and performs as well as much more expensive models. If you are someone who would like to use your SLR underwater, but cannot justify the expense of the current market offerings (usually $1500-$4,000) then we'd love to hear from you.

I would like to personally interview via phone or email anyone who is willing to lend me a bit more of their time. Please email us at h2ophotoproject@gmail.com (external link).

Also, please take a look at our website and complete the survey there if you have a few moments. H2O Photo Project (external link)
Thank you,
Troy Smith

I filled out the survey, adding my email to it. Sent this to a couple of divers I know who have their purchased housings, I'm pretty sure they'll fill it out and get it to others.

I just took the survey.
I really hope they can pull this off.
Under $1,000. Not $1,000. Not "close to $1,000". Not $1,200 . . .
UNDER $1,000.
That would be great, and I would be the first in line!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

that would be pretty cool. In the Houston area the Sea Sports Scuba store chain has a big photog dive group. I bought an S90 hoping to find a good case for better price than for 30D or 7D - ended up just buying a GoPro. Would love to be able to take a real camera diving for under a grand.

7D, RebelXT, 30D, 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8, Sigma 70-200 2.8 Macro, Sigma 1.4x TC, Tamron 17-50 2.8, Metz 54, 100-400IS, Kenko Ext Tube Set, 24-70 2.8, 180mm Macro, (2) GoPro

We're seeing more survey results come in. Thanks for your input!

A lower price than anything currently available for SLRs is definitely one of our goals. We're trying to determine if it will be possible.
