Which CF and SD cards to buy for shooting RAW+RAW on 5D3?

I have a few 8GB CF cards and SD cards already, that worked fine for me when shooting with a 5Dc and 60D. I need to buy new cards to use in the 5D3s that I'll be picking up next week. For shooting events, I will shoot in RAW+RAW, so the capacity of both SD and CF should be equal.

Two questions:
1. I have read that the write speed of the CF card decreases to match the SD card bus when writing to both, so should I be content with a slower CF card and splurge on the faster SD cards? I've looked through Rob Galbraiths table of sustained card speeds and this seems to be the best option (i.e. no need for fast CF cards, especially since I don't burst).

2. Do I buy 32GB cards and have enough for an entire event, or do I separate and buy 16GB cards (the concept of "don't put all your eggs in one basket")? What is your thought on this dilemma?
