Has anyone else been seeing the Vertical Video Syndrome creeping into photography?
Here's a funny little vid expressing why Vertical Videos should be banned.

As a still photographer, flipping the camera vertical to match the composition was simply natural. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

I was thinking "Hmmmm.....how do I rotate this so I can see it?" That's when I realized that video is not intended to be shot in various orientations. This is an old way of thinking. Our photo programs automatically rotate photos we take vertically based on a setting in our camera. The same should go for video. This is a simple thing that needs to get straightened out. We are now watching videos on handheld easily rotatable devices so there's no reason that videos should not be recorded vertically!
