Took this the other night downtown. The original was quite noisy, so I decided to use the CS6 Oil Paint filter to change it up... Shot with a 40D, Tamron 17-50 @ 50mm f2.8, ISO 1600

I like it to be honest. This is the 2nd "oil can" I've seen on here and I'm really starting to think that maybe I should play around with it.

Did you add that gradient? I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on it, but overall I like the photo. Looks like this would make a good location for some portraits. Throw a speedlight or 2 on some light stands and go at it!

Well, I honestly just found the effect and tried it out on a handful of pics (that newness experimentation)and I didn't like it. But this original didn't work for me by itself so I tried it, and liked it made it much better.

Gradient? Blur or color? The colors were natural, red was stoplight, the others are from various Christmas decorations that up are downtown. The blur was due to the 50mm @f1.8.

The DOF is great! I was reffering to the color gradient. The more I look at it the more it grows on me to me honest.
