Well, I got the battery grip today, attached the 70-200mm f/2.8L, and now officially have the Massive Chunk of Yummy Goodness:

The above images were taken with my fine Olympus 3.1MP P&S.

I'm pretty happy right now.

I won't have a chance to really put this thing through its' paces until Saturday, but here are a few shots I took today during lunch:

These certainly aren't the best shots in the world, but I wanted to shoot something today.

I think I'm gonna' have a lot of fun this weekend...

Nice set up Steve. Now all you need is a POTN strap. :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Oh, don't I know it. I hate the straps that come with the cameras...

they do usually ship very quickly. I think I got mine in like two days. Cheaper I believe than buying them without the POTN logo.

I'm definitely more of a guitar player than I am a photographer. For that reason, I pay homage to that by listing my two favorites. The D-40 was a gift from "She Who Lets Me Live Here" when I retired from the Navy. And, hey, the Taylor's a nice guitar, too!

As for the new photo rig, I'm ecsctatic over it. I was messing around with some different settings last night, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna' dig this thing...

Is that Near Gillespe field?

It's gotta be since there aren't train tracks with concrete near them like that around downtown (the other place the plane could be coming from)

Just curious..

We gotta go out sometime with our 20D's. You out did me with the 70-200; but it'd stil be fun.

Thank goodness it's supposed to be sunny this weekend!

Gillespie Field it is; nice catch!

I'm up for an outing anytime. The next three weekends are out for me, but then I've got all of February before I start travelling (for work) in March.

Maybe we can get a whole San Diego POTN contingent together. I know there are more than a few of us here...
