7D mkII. What do you think the specs and price will be?

Is there something wrong with my 7D?

I've had it since it was launched, but I haven't noticed any of this drastic reduction in performance or image quality that everybody else seems to be getting. When I bought it it was the best APS-C in the Canon lineup for shooting wildlife - and it still is!

But I keep reading about how it should have degenerated into a steming pile of wombat poo - not even fit to lick the boots of other, mightier, cameras. On the contrary, my 7D has improved in performance since I first got it. So what am I doing wrong?

oh good it's not just me then.... everytime i read anything about the 7D there follows a stream of 'you should upgrade to FF' etc.. i was taking some pics the other day and someone told me to upgrade my 7D to a iphone5 camera which is miles better.. etc etc..

funny thing is.. my 7D is still producing great results and i'm still learning

Ah.. i forgot to add I was watching the BBC's 'The Great British Year', at the end of the programme they showed behind the scenes and making of seqeunces.. with some stunning timelapse and still photography... i saw at least 2 7D's being used.. as part of the kit used for a BBC HD wildlife/nature documentary.. still some life in the 7D's yet then eh

I was curious about that with mine so I tested it to capture the stunning fall colors and it did spectacularly well.

Just to add more fuel to the fire. Nothing that looks to new in this rumor. It will be interesting to see how the sensor is.

^^^ I'd be happy with just plain old one stop better ISO performance. I've go no other complaints with mine except I'm shooting with it too much.

My 7d must be broken also. it continues to take stunning photos almost a year and a half after I bought it. A lot of my friends have laid out over 3 thousand dollars for a 5d mrk III to replace their inferior 7d and for some reason those 5 ds haven't been broken in or something because the photos they are getting are lacking.

I was hoping to see a second card slot. Other than that it should be a stellar camera based on improvements over the 7D now and the examples from the 70D

Looking at those mentioned specs, I don't see anything that excites me enough to upgrade if that's what Canon releases. It's a bit lame to wait 5 years for such mediocre improvements. I don't know where Canon can go with it to be honest. Between the 70D, 6D and 5D3 there's really not any room for a camera to slot in.

There's plenty of room as the 7D is the top APS-C body. It's rumored price is the same as the 6D but the rumored spec is close to the 5D3 with the dual Digic5+, focus points and higher FPS. It would be even better should the sensor performance come in better than the 70D

61-point AF + 10-12fps would make me upgrade, even if it's at its current 18mp sensor. But that's just me.

The new 7D MKII should have Dilithium Crystal AF and help me pick the winning lottery numbers! Now that’s an upgrade.

I agree. One weekend a month I do photo's in a dimly lit church where I'm at iso 6400, I'd like it a bit cleaner so I don't have to adjust as much in post. I'm used to it and with teamspeed's thread's still get nice shots though

Actually, on top of that I would like some more DR for those high contrast scenes that either blow up the highlights or drown the shadows in noise.
To be fair, I haven't tried the Magic Lantern mod with its dual ISO trick.
Does anyone have any experience with it? Any impressions?

So, this idea occurred to me while day dreaming about the new Sony's. If the new 7D II had an APS-C sensor with around 24 MP, could they release two versions? One with video capability and an AA filter and one without either (perhaps for less $). Would that make everybody happy? I know it is unlikely, but would it work? Just a thot.
