Anyone made this jump skipping Win 7?

Any issues related to Adobe products?

Um, Because I have a laptop running XP and want to know if it would be worthwhile to go straight to Win 8 instead of Win 7...

So far the few people I know who have upgraded are not too keen on 8, most says it is too tablet-like of an interface. Because of that I haven't installed my upgrade yet.

You will really like 7 over XP, I recently switched 4 months ago and it is pretty nice.

Software and hardware problems with Windows 7. Photo Shop Elements 2 unable to load.
No drivers for Epson 960 printer and Epson scanner. So before you leap look.

I concur with Adam. Installed Win 8 on a work laptop for grins, and not liking it much. Intended for a touch screen.

I've actually got 7 Pro on my desktop machine and it's great but thought maybe I'd leapfrog with the laptop.

Guess I'll just put 7 on it as well.

I don't have 8 on anything of my own yet but I've used it and by and large once you get used to how it uses hot corners and things, it's just fine. The removal of the start menu is perplexing for many but since Vista & 7 trained me to use the start menu as a glorified search tool it's no different. Press the Windows key, start typing in what I want and press enter or wait for the search results to come up. Still performs the same basic function.

There are a number of under-the-hood improvements I'm interested in as well. I'll be building a new photo editing workstation/desktop in January most likely and I already have my copy of Win 8 Pro handy for it. Then again I jumped in to Vista when it came out and did the same with 7 and never really regretted either.

I don't miss XP for a second, never really fell in love with it. It was just a prettied up version of Win2k with no solid improvements to me as an end user.
