Help with fixing these 2 images

I been trying to extend the backdrop on both,but just can't seem to do. can someone please help me with this. thank in advance!

You'll have to size those waaaay down! The POTN limit is 1024 pixels at the widest/tallest dimension!

I spent a little time working with the large version before you reposted. My guess is that it should not be too difficult to select all of the people, use Refine Edge as appropriate, and place them on a new background. You could reshoot just the background (this one or another of your choosing) to use as a replacement. As you have these cropped it shouldn't be hard to do; with the earlier version with the children at the bottom perhaps a little more so. You might have to brush in some shadows to make it look realistic. Just a few thoughts, FWIW.

I just had to have another go at this. I think with a little care you can fix what you have. This is just a quick job and there are some flaws, but I believe it shows what can be done. Using Photoshop Elements 11 I did this:

1. Select the people. You don't need to be too careful except at the sides where you're going to clone in the background.

2. Refine the edge a bit by feathering and smoothing.

3. Invert the selection.

4. Use the Clone Stamp Tool ("Aligned" unchecked) to sample the background above their heads and start painting in on the right side. Use short strokes.

5. This works fairly well until you get close to the bottom where the sheet is wrinkled. As I got down there I reduced my brush opacity from 100% to 20% and used short, quick strokes to blend.

6. Repeat on the left side.

7. I "broke all the rules" by working directly on the background layer. If you duplicate the layer first you might be able to do a little layer blending to improve how the cloned background merges with the original background.
