Has anyone purchased this?

If so, are you pleased with your purchase? Just wondering whether to get one or not.

Thanks.

I have this grip on my S100.

I like it. Makes it easier to hold.

I've had one on my S95 for a year or so. It works well for me. I debated a while because it seemed like too much money for what it is/does, but I think I'd buy it again if I had it to do over.
EDIT: On second thought, if I had it to do over, I'd probably just go with the Flipbac G2 grip (external link) for ten bucks. It's not near as cool as the R.F. grip, but I think it would do the job just as well for my use.

I have the RF grip on my S95 and am quite happy with it. For me it is a perfect fit for holding the camera, and it made the camera a LOT easier to hold on to, as well as easing my fear of dropping it. It is expensive, but I have never regretted spending the money on it. The curved portion fits my index finger perfectly, and I consider that a key advantage over the other choices I looked at when I got it. Not familiar with the flipbac mentioned above, but the price sounds much better.
The S95 needs a grip though, can't imagine having one without a grip on it.

Thanks a lot for your responses. It seems a little pricey to me, too, but I am expecting this camera in a few days (purchased from another forum member) and don't want to risk dropping it during my upcoming trip. Sounds like it might be worth the extra money.

Edit: Just looked up the Flipbac grip and it received excellent reviews as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Highly recommend the grip as well. I've put them in both my S90 & S95. It improved the ergonomics of both cameras.

Update: The grip is now installed and it was a worthwhile purchase. Makes the camera very easy to hold. I recommend it for anyone who is on the fence about getting one. The more expensive one seems to be more elegant, but the less expensive one (that I have) works just fine.

I agree. I've had the less expensive one for a couple years and I don't even think about it. Save $30. It's as black as the camera so nobody even notices it and it works perfectly.

Do these stick on with double-sided tape, basically?

Is this sort of a one-way process? Once you put it on, it's pretty much on, unless you want to deal with the mess after peeling it off?

Here is some more information about the grip I purchased:

If you scroll down there is some information about removing the grip.

I gave myself the Flipbac FBG2 Camera Grip for my S95 as a Christmas stocking stuffer. Maybe the best $10 I ever spent! Rubber surface and shape solves the basic gripping problem I've had for years with this small flat camera. Was not aware it even existed until reading a post in this forum.

Thanks for the heads up Madwrench!
