This is an old (last year) photo from a trip to England.
I am still experimenting with different b/w conversions.
I wish there was just an easy, 'press here' button to convert.

Try cutting the building to a new layer and then burn your sky. I had this same issue with a recent conversion and thats basically what I was told to do. It work out good, made a much better looking image.

aparmley Senior Member 508 posts Joined Jul 2005 Location: Near St. Louis More info | Jan 05, 2006 20:55 | #5 a method I have fun with is taking the original image, make sure foreground is set to black, apply a gradient filter from the menu at the bottom of your layer pallete. Then applying a channel mixer on top of that, adjust those until you get what you were after. . . Sometimes I find altering the exposure with the channel mixer, which is, all sliders must add up to 100 to maintain the exposure, if you make them add up to something higher - then you over exposing, then take the bottom slider and move it into the negative, you really increase the contrast and it can turn out pretty cool. . . you have to play around a bit. Switched to Nikon . . . Thanks to all of you that made my sale a success! Enjoy your new gear!
