I am ashamed to admit I watch "90210" lol...

On the show, one of the guys punch a paparazzi, who falls down. His big white lens, which is strapped to his side, hits the ground. You can't see it as well on this clip, but on the show, the front of the lens completely blows out.

about 9 seconds in.

I'm sure it is about as realistic as their computer talk (Just load this on your computer and it will erase your half-nude photos off every website...yea...right.​..lol)

hard to tell, but didn't look like the lens broke. looked more like some prop they had sitting there broke.

it may have been a filter on the lens

I had to find a better clip and re-watch it. I think you're right, it wasn't the front but it didn't make sense. The lens hits first, glass breaks (before the camera he is holding and his body hits the ground). He holds the lens up. looks at the front of it and says "you smashed my camera" while still looking at gesturing towards the lens.
