Possibly a good place to go and buy 'cheap' photography stuff, amongst other things...?
http://www.eachbuyer.com/cameras-photo.html?limit=all (external link)

Actually I don't know a thing about it, but I saw it and looked around, it appears to be really similar to dealsxtreme.com, (but better prices) I assume this is a Chinese website also, really, I haven't checked.

I looked here before I posted to see if there was a better place to put this, if this is inappropriate, you can sure delete it. :)

I'm one of those people that likes to help if I can, I am in now way affiliated with this place at all.

So, If you do or don't like the place, let it be known, it is right before a major holiday, (although it takes a WHILE to get stuff from China most times) and I thought it could come in handy, that's why I posted.
Recently I bought an actual Rapid Strap Sport from a well-known online store, it was expensive, so I tried out a strap from Dealsxtreme.com and it was pretty much identical. I believe that the knock-off strap cost me $27. (US) and it was the dual strap, I use it more than the original single strap.
The knock-off strap has a "Q" (Maybe for Quick Strap?) instead of a "R" on it, that is the only difference I see, the quality's really very good.
Just an example, you can do your own checking to see if it's right for you, I'm not trying to convert anyone to any site or thinking. :)

I'm sorry, but it'll be a long time before I go out of my way to order anything from China over the internet. I could give many reasons but let's just say I would rather pay extra to get something which isn't a "knock-off" (read counterfeit), from a source which will stand by their product if anything is wrong with it, a source that respects the way honest buying and selling is supposed to be done. Then too, if something is wrong, will I have to actually interface with someone in China? Good Lord, I have enough trouble ordering take-out Chinese food and having them get the order correct.:cry:

But hey, to each his own and you are to be commended for promoting customer information in the marketplace.

Bob

Thanks Bob, I know what you mean, and it may sound crazy for me to post this, really, I do understand, I wanted to hear from both sides.
The reason I did it was to try and help, I really hope this doesn't get political, there are people here that are from near China too, and they may not see what Westerners feel.
The knock-off deal is what it is though, but we all do stuff we're not proud of, or, can't afford.
What a knock-off is to me is that a piece of merchandise is being sold for the REAL deal, not a semi-cloned piece. Auto manufacturers didn't all come up with the same ideas years ago, or now, if that makes sense. :) These things on their site, or dealsxtreme.com does not, from what I have seen, sell knock-offs as a genuine item.
I'm not really condoning it, but I don't have the time to go through all of the places I buy from to see what is made by whom, or where, to be honest, I really don't trust most places anyway. :)

Anyway, if this gets people riled up, I'd be O.K. if the Mods locked it, I honestly an not trying to get anyone upset. :)

That's one of the "Don't like it" side. heheheh

Looked it over, some of the prices are good, some pretty close to what I can buy cheap stuff here for.

I've bought plenty of things from China (and other countries) over the internet with no problems.
I'm glad there are low cost alternatives.

Thanks Rick, Yeah, you're right, you can buy stuff that is the same price here, or other places. Most of it though, you can't. I see stuff there that is definitely less expensive than anywhere I've seen it.
This place seems to be just starting out, and I suspect the really low prices that we see there (and the low amount of things they have too) will change soon. They are in direct competition with Dealsxtreme.com, so they have to do something right now to attract attention.

Just like you, I have bought several things from China that were no problem at all, the only downfall is usually the wait. I always read the Reviews on any site too, like Dealsxtreme.com's, you definitely need to know what you are buying.
On both of these places I would have to make sure, as much as possible, to know as much as I can about the item, some stuff just shouldn't be bought 'cheap'. Cameras, major appliances, T.V's, or anything that you might regret later. One other reason is that if you needed to return something, well, I'll let your imagination go with that. :)

I'm not an expert on any of this by a long shot, it's just an opinion.

I will buy something from China on rare occasion, but I'm usually too spontaneous for that. I just bought a macro flash bracket from one of those outfits on Ebay. I think my expected delivery time is about 3-4 weeks after I ordered it. I will have completely forgotten about it by then, so will be like a surprise gift that I bought for myself in the past! :) For anything I seriously needed, I would never order from China.

I'm with you on that! heheheh (I always forget what I had ordered too, and then it's like Christmas!)
