Went to purchase a 70-300 and ended up buying a 60D! :p

I was on B&H's web site to order a 70-300 to get more range over my 17-85. The lens was 499, however while looking at the 60D (which I been bugging for to upgrade my 30D), I noticed a 'special buy' that the 70-300 was $199 when purchased with the 60D (I think it worked for the 7D also). The deal was too good to pass up!

Thanks -
Justin

Sounds like a win as long as you don't mind the smaller size of the 60D...sell your 30D when you get the new camera and you shoudln't be out too much money! :D

I just came up from a 30D and I already love it. The size isn't much different at all. I thought the swivel screen would just be a novelty but it's gotten it's use already so I bought a small carbon fiber tripod and it is shorter than me. But I don't even need to bend down to look in the viewfinder. It's a very nice camera for the money.

Had a 6D....
Then had a daughter....
Now have an SL2 and Mavic Pro.... Man life changes.
I would encourage you... To just go for it.

When you get it sit down in front of your PC and check out the Canon made 60D tutorials at http://www.learn.usa.canon.com …s/eos_60d_tutorials.shtml (external link). Very helpful in learning the camera. You can also place the tutorials on a memory card and view them in camera instead of on a PC. I find this helpful as a quick review. You do need an 8G card if you do this.

Congrats... that is a sweet deal that you got. I was just looking at it myself. Been thinking about picking up a smaller crop camera and that is a fantastic lens. And I've been thinking about that lens for my 5D3. With this deal, you are getting the 60D for $399! I was thinking about that lens... hmmm....

I did the same yesterday :-).
After going back and forth between several bodies (Sony A65, Nikon D7000, T4I and 60D) for quite some time I finally made up my mind and got the 60D. I also noticed that I could have the 70-300mm for cheap and got that too.
Finally I also bought a 2nd hand 15-85mm to complete the set.
Coming from a G12 I'm looking forward to the challenge of the 60D..
