apersson850 Obviously it's a good thing  More info | The firmwares are of course not the same, as in being identical. They drive different cameras. But they are saying the AF capability at f/8 will be the same, once they've done that and some video stuff for the 5D Mark III. Anders

Dec 12, 2012 06:16 | #11 ok that is helpful thanks. the piece i read was about whether the red/black af point colour fix for the 1dx could be applied in a similar fashion to the 5d3. i know it is a different topic but it made the whole firmware update seem a bit vague and subject to change. i guess reading the above that some aspects are more nailed down that others.
