Anyone know how and where the 2% rewards show up? I've bought about a little over $7K worth of stuff that qualify and wondering how to tell I've gotten it. I think there is a waiting period.

When you click on the "Details" link right next to where it mentions "Rewards" anywhere on Amazon's website, it explains the following:

Rewards
Purchase any compact system camera, DSLR, or camera lens $99 and up that is shipped from and sold by Amazon.com and receive 2% back in Rewards, no registration required. 35 days after shipment, your rewards will automatically convert into a promotional code that is automatically applied to your account and can be used on any item that is shipped from and sold by Amazon.com.

Hope this helps,
Bryan

I ordered a lens Oct 31st, shipped Nov 1st. I got an email from Amazon on Dec 7th saying that my 2% in rewards had automatically be converted into a promotional code and applied to my account.

I get what you are all saying, but where in my account do I see this? WIll I show a credit on my account... where now it says $0? I don't see anything in the My Account pages that resembles this... the closest thing is gift card balances.

Thanks.

Yes, it will show up as a credit to your account after 35 days.

I had the same question when waiting before - you cannot find it under your account. You will get an email from Amazon at ~35 days after shipping (my case ~37 days) saying that the funds are now available to be applied to your account. The funds will then be available to use when you go and check out on an item (on credit card page).

e.g. of the email
Thank you for purchasing from Amazon.com.
Your recent order XXXXXXXXXXX entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase."

I just used my rewards recently. This is what happens. They are available 35 days after purchasing and will show up as promotion credit when you put items in your cart where "Amazon" is the seller and you go to the checkout stage. NOTE Items sold by third-party (Not shipped from Amazon) will not be eligible for the promotion credits. I learned this after having seen the promotion credit when I was about to buy some items and then decided to buy a different item. The different item wasn't shipped from Amazon and the promotion credit disappeared. I called Amazon and they explained the process above. I put another item in my cart to buy that was sold by Amazon and "voila" the promotion credit appeared on the check out page. The 2% cash WILL NOT show up anywhere on your accounts page and will only show up on checkout page when ordering.

It has been around for a couple of months I think. It is available on many/most camera/lens products. See the explanation of the "deal" - http://www.amazon.com …629822&pf_rd_i=B00009USW3 (external link)

PS: I see some 'ref=' part on that link, it is not mine. You can get to that link from most camera products pages too.. search for some lens like "Canon 400mm" or something, and go from there.

Not new, and not just Amazon. B&H and Adorama offer the same 2% credit.

I called them about the same thing, I had a 4% rebate.

It gets posted 30 days or whereabouts after purchase, right after the return period ends.

The 3% from their credit card come on top, although it's a question whether that is worth dealing with Chase (ugh).

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.
