I have a canon 40D and the auto rotate worked no flaw until I did the shutter release button trick with alcohol. I know I was taking a risk.
After the cleanup the auto rotate does not work anymore (I checked the menu just to be sure and it is still activate for both screen and file). I does not work in file, nor screen. I can live with that, but if there an easy fix, that would not cause another problem, I would do it. I still prefer to have a responsive shutter button than a auto rotate on potential missed shot.
